Madagascar is an island of contradictions. It’s home to a mind-melting amount of biodiversity that is getting smaller every day. It’s one of the poorest countries, but one of the richest in natural resources. The name Madagascar elicits thoughts of giant baobabs and jumping lemurs, but this magnificent island is so much more. The main goal for my expedition to Madagascar was to explore the Makay Massif, one of the least explored places in the world. A twisted maze of sandstone mountains, flanked on all sides by thousands upon thousands of slot canyons. Madagascar is simply unforgettable.
