Red Rock Towers and Canyons
October 22 – 27, 2026

Overview
Join this SMALL GROUP, ALL INCLUSIVE tour, photographing some of Utah’s best kept secrets. From winding river canyons, to massive towers, and incredible overlooks, this workshop will take you to some of the most photogenic locations in the southwest.
This workshop is for those photographers who want a little more adventure and to get off the beaten path. We will be off roading and hiking to some of the most scenic and untouched landscapes the state has to offer.
This trip is PERFECT for those who have already seen many of the iconic sights in the southwest, and are looking to photograph new locations.

What Should You Expect?
This workshop was put together to give you a chance to photograph stunning, but very infrequently visited locations, some of which I’ve never shared with a group before. Along the way, we’ll also shoot a few iconic areas too good to pass up.
I’m extraordinarily passionate about photography and the outdoors, and am always excited to share knowledge and help others get out and into nature.
We will be out early each morning and late evening to capture the twilight and golden hour of both sunrise and sunset. The best place to learn is in the field, and I will help each person capture the best photos possible.
When we are not driving to the next location, we will have editing sessions where I help you edit YOUR photos. These sessions are recorded for your own use afterwards.

Itinerary
Please note: this exact itinerary is subject to change. We want to get you the best photos possible and will pivot based on the weather.
This tour will begin in St George, UT and end in Salt Lake City, UT.
Day 1 & 2: We’ll leave St George after lunch and drive to Kanab, UT. This is our base for exploring an untouched area with incredible sandstone formations and deep canyons.
Day 4: Our next stop is Hanksville, UT. Many know this area for its beautiful badlands, but it’s also home to absurdly beautiful gorges and large buttes. Access requires off-roading to get back into areas few people venture.
Day 4 & 5: And finally, we finish our trip out in Moab, UT. Here you can expect to photograph the most incredible vantage points, overlooking thousand foot tall buttes and lined with twisted juniper trees.
Day 6: Our final sunrise shoot will have us hiking to the tallest natural tower in the country. First light here is gorgeous. After breakfast, we will head to Salt Lake City where the tour will conclude no later than 2pm.
Education
We will mostly be focused on wide-angle photography during this workshop. I’ll teach you everything I know about finding foregrounds, how to quickly compose compositions, and maximize the depth in your photographs.
We’ll cover focus stacking in-depth, both taking the photos in the field and assembling them after, and I will use your photographs from this trip as demonstration.

Logistics & Other Information
This workshop STARTS in St George, UT and ENDS in Salt Lake City, UT. Plan to meet the group at 11am at the Hampton Inn St. George on the 22nd. We will drop you off at the SLC Airport around 2pm on the 27th.
The southwest’s fall weather is moderate during the day and cold at night. Be prepared for temperatures from the low 30’s to the high 70’s. A jacket, gloves and thermal layers are a must for the desert’s cold mornings.
We will be staying in mid-range hotels throughout the trip, and each person will have their own room. All meals are included.
Transportation will be provided via a large 4×4 SUV. No one will sit in a middle seat. We’ll be covering over 1000 miles on this tour, taking you to the most photogenic locations possible.
