What Should You Expect?

We will be photographing some of the most beautiful slot canyons in the world, far away from the crowds inside Antelope Canyon. Enjoy unspoiled nature in Utah’s rugged backcountry.

Expect long days of off-road driving and hiking. This workshop is for those who don’t mind going the extra mile for a good photo.

We won’t be doing any rappelling, but this workshop will require teamwork as we navigate these twisted slot canyons.

Itinerary

Please note, this itinerary is subject to change.

Day 1

We’ll meet at 3 pm for a quick orientation and overview before checking into our rooms and then heading out to photograph a nearby sunset location.

Day 2

After an early breakfast, we head out on an all-day adventure into a massive canyon. The hike to this canyon is long, but the payoff is huge. Highly sculpted walls and mud crack covered floors await us.

Day 3

The day before was tiring, so today we have a more low-key outing to another canyon. In the afternoon, we process some of our images and photograph a nearby arch for sunset.

Day 4

Another full day adventure takes us to one of the most twisted slot canyons on the planet. This rivals the fabled antelope canyon, but with zero crowds. We’ll spend all day photographing its glowing walls and light beams.

Day 5

We have time for a sunrise shoot at some beautiful hoodoos before a final processing session. The workshop will conclude at 10:00am.
